Best tattoo shop!! I was recommended to Spoony by a close friend who got a tattoo a few years ago. I found Spoony on Instagram and then found his shop Space Mermaid. I live in Fort Lauderdale his shop is in Melbourne. I wanted a very large 3/4 leg sleeve with geometric patterns, mandalas, and an Aries ram on the calf. I have Spoony full freedom on the design and choices of patterns and design. When I showed up on day 1 it was like I knew Spoony for years. He was super friendly and had great ideas. I soon found out his wife Mel also worked at the shop. Since this was a very large piece and I lived 2 hrs south I had to come for multiple sessions. Spoony, Mel, and the whole team that works at Space Mermaid made me and my husband feel like family. Spoony’s work speaks for itself, and I plan to come back for a full arm sleeve as well. I would recommend going to Spoony or anyone at Space Mermaid.

Went to Space Mermaid Tattoo Gallery a while ago with my wife and dog! My wife and I got matching tattoos of our mini dachshund as a space dog. We loved getting our work done by @zakdiamondtattoos! He was professional, clean, and kept us smiling and laughing! We’d keep coming back just for him! I also saw an instagram post about a giveaway which is incredible for them to do! Can’t wait to go back and get my next piece of art!

I spent a year waiting to get a tattoo that has significant meaning to me. My husband and I had a consult weeks ago with the owners of this shop. Spoonie and Melissa are consummate professionals and spent time with us during the consultation ensuring both our visions for our tattoos were realized. They took the time to discuss at length our ideas and then spent time today ensuring size, color, and design were perfect before creating the stencil and agreeing on the final design. The store is fully wheelchair accessible and these owners went above and beyond to ensure we were accommodated, comfortable and at ease. Their art is spectacular in both black and white, shading and color. This shop boasts numerous highly talented tattoo artists besides the owners named Zach, Lindsey, Tina, and Scott. All of which have over 60 years combined experience of exceptional artistry and professionalism. The entire shop is a laid back stunningly clean, open space, with fully accessible private areas for those more intimate tattoos. Thank you for the excellent service, your artistry, and amazing talent. Thank you for putting your heart and soul into your work to ensure every customer is leaving with only the highest quality art. In an industry that boasts huge competition among artists, I can honestly say this is the only place I trust. I highly recommend a consult with the owners. My husband and I went into this shop expecting good work- but what we got was genuinely exceptional! Thanks so much for that!

Let me count the ways we loved our experience… 1. Traveled from IL and knew we wanted a ‘walk-in’ but for our last day there, so I searched for a reputable shop and Space Mermaid was the best. Sent an inquiry through their website and was contacted quickly and with such enthusiasm, we knew we picked the right place. 2. Spoony (artist/owner) discussed our ideas and whipped out some amazing and quick flash ideas for us; four different people with different things in mind. 3. Made all four of us (women ages 36-70) feel insanely relaxed and welcome. 4. Spoony cranked out some of the quickest, CLEAN black lines with ease, and had 3 of us done within 2 1/2 hours. 5. They’re talented artist, Lindsey, rocked a watercolor piece for our fourth person and it was everything they wanted and MORE. 6. THEY HOST MAGIC THE GATHERING CLUBS EVERY OTHER SATURDAY!! 7. Artwork and individuality of each artist’s spaces were so fun to look through while here —check out the insanely talented artist, Zach, who creates hand-sculpted scenery of TMNT!! 8. The shop is spacious, well-lit, CLEAN, and I can’t emphasize enough about the friendliness and disarming nature of everyone who works there. The friendliest staff throughout the whole experience!! This is not a paid review —this is just how great our time was here!! Rumor has it, Spoony fought off a dolphin in his kayak —just to later tattoo that same exact dolphin when he came in the shop for a walk-in. Crazy stuff!

My husband and I got tattooed by Spoony and could not be happier with the entire process. The shop was clean, professional, relaxing, and well lit, and the consultation was by far the most thorough one I’ve ever had done. The actual tattoo process was the best I’ve ever had. Spoony was so attentive about design placement, and patiently worked with me to make sure it was the best possible placement for my vision and design. Pricing was more than fair - especially given the quality of work and detail Spoony did. Honestly I would have paid double for how high quality it was. We will absolutely be back, and will refer anyone looking to get a tattoo here! 10/10 the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. Spoony and Mel have created a gem of a shop that they should be so proud of.
